The need addressed

Based on our Business Intelligence Department study, most of the start up companies shut down within 2 years. Only 45% of these companies are truly organized to innovate in a regular way and to develop business.

Among the advanced reasons explaining the non exploitation of these projects appears:

  • the lack of experience in business and administration,
  • the lack of financial resources dedicated to sales and marketing and the,
  • difficulty to access to the customers in a very high competitive market.

First conclusion: the structure of the start up’ companies is insufficient in terms of business and administration despite of a strong product and/or a strong knowledge in science.

Second report: to the lacks of organization and process of delegation are added a financial resource gap, accompanied by the difficulty of access to the market and to generate deal flows.

Based on Boston Consulting Group survey “Innovation 2006”:

  • “Innovation remains a top strategic focus for many companies for 72 percent of the executives. (Versus 66 percent in 2005).
  • 72 percent of respondents said their companies will increase spending on innovation in 2006.
  • At the same time, many executives remain unsatisfied with the financial returns on their companies’ investments in innovation.
  • Globalization, organizational issues (such as metrics and measurement, structure, and people), and leadership remain three of the biggest challenges facing companies that are seeking to become more innovative.”
